I'm not really sure what you're asking, but I love delicious and use it heavily. If I'm looking for something very specific within the tech community, I can usually search delicious and find what I'm looking for. Plus w/ the Firefox extension it makes it really easy to bookmark sites. Since its web based its accessible for from anywhere.
I think delicious is what made tagging so popular. The more a user bookmarks your site the better you'll rank, which usually means your providing compelling content or a great service for users. In a way you can use delicious as a gauge for how popular a site is, at least IMO.
